Today we turned back the clocks and I was up early. The alarm went off at six (would have been five) and I woke easily. Driving to my early morning class, I saw beautiful, unphotographable sights of the rising sun.

. . .Gold light hitting a run-down building, making it look like a painting of Paris.

. . .The sky, huge and filled with thick white and grey clouds (no blue) except for a narrow strip on the eastern horizon where the sun was brilliant and golden.

. . .In my rearview mirror a freight train in the distance passing in front of the rising sun.
